Masterminds is our structured, spirited Mah Jongg league in St. Louis for players who know the NMJL rules and are ready for fun, competitive play in a welcoming environment. It is perfect for players who already know the basics of mahjong and want regular play.
Think friendly competition, weekly bragging rights, and a little extra focus at the table. Each league night is hosted by Mah Jongg Minds, with announcements, weekly mini-prizes, and a little celebration whenever someone calls Mah Jongg.
How the Season Works
The season includes four regular-season scoring weeks followed by a separate Championship Night.
Each week:
• We play three official scoring games
• If time allows, additional games may be played for fun
• Your best three of four weekly scores count toward standings
• And yes — there will be prizes and weekly bragging rights.
At the end of Week 4, the top four players advance to the Final Table on Championship Night.
Final Table: Three official games. Clean slate. Highest total score wins.

League Details & Registration
Format: 4 regular-season Mondays + Championship Night
Price: $150 for the season (five hosted league nights)
Time: 7:00–9:00 PM
Card Required: 2025 NMJL card
Location: Mah Jongg Minds Studio, 5 Plant Avenue, Webster Groves, MO (easy free parking)
Scoring: League scoring system with bonuses for self-pick and no-joker hands
Standings: Weekly leaderboard shared via email
Seating is limited for each league season.
